Honda Motor has announced the recall of about 440.83 thousand minivans of the Odyssey model in the United States, following the discovery of a technical fault in the vehicle’s software that could pose serious risks to passenger safety while driving.
According to what the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Wednesday, the recall covers Odyssey vehicles due to a software issue that could cause the airbags to deploy unexpectedly.
The U.S. regulatory body also instructed Honda’s authorized dealers to begin immediately reprogramming the airbag deployment system to ensure it works according to the correct technical specifications, emphasizing that this will be done at no additional cost to vehicle owners.
