The financial authority in the United Kingdom has filed a lawsuit against several entities affiliated with “HTX,” a company specialized in digital asset trading.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) submitted the lawsuit to the High Court in London, which relates to financial and regulatory services, after previously warning potential customers against using the platform.
The FCA stated in a press release: “The Financial Conduct Authority has initiated civil proceedings in the High Court against the exchange for the unlawful promotion of cryptocurrency services to consumers in the UK, which constitutes a violation of the financial promotion regime.”
It added that the lawsuit against the exchange linked to billionaire “Justin Sun,” who has close ties to the family of U.S. President “Donald Trump”, is part of its commitment to protecting consumers and maintaining the integrity of financial markets in the UK.
“Sun” is the CEO of “BitTorrent” and an advisor to “HTX,” and he has been closely associated with the Trump family’s projects in the digital asset space, but his name was not listed as a defendant in the lawsuit.
